Our winter sports enthusiasts will find the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental practically on our doorstep. Two gondola lifts take you from Brixen im Thale to the surrounding, snow-sure peaks. On around 270 perfectly groomed kilometres of pistes, supported by 83 modern cable cars, you can reach the villages of Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kirchberg, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf in the surrounding valleys of this great ski circus.
Around 80 of Austria's most beautiful huts and mountain restaurants, sun terraces and snow bars invite you to take a break. Cosiness, hospitality and Tyrolean charm set the tone - and statistically speaking, there is an opportunity to stop off here every 3.5 km!

A state-of-the-art lift system with 57 lifts and 233 kilometres of downhill runs make skiers' hearts beat faster - especially during a visit to the world-famous Hahnenkamm downhill run Streif.

Or you can try your hand at the longest ski circuit in the world! The new KitzSkiWelt Tour will connect the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental with the KitzSki ski area in future. The longest of its variants covers 88 km of pistes of all levels of difficulty and bridges 17,232 metres in altitude.

The wide, open valleys in the Kitzbühel Alps allow for cross-country skiing with magnificent views without difficult climbs. At numerous points you can join the 580 km network of skating and classic cross-country trails. Changing rooms, lockable boxes, shower facilities and catering are available at many entry points, most of which are only a few minutes away by car. The 36 cross-country ski trails in the region at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser massif, in the wide Brixen valley up to the Hohe Salve or the high-altitude trail on the Paß Thurn can be used free of charge, as can most of the ski buses. Ideal for beginners and for nature lovers are also cross-country ski trails within walking distance.
High & Light: during the day popular at altitude the high-altitude cross-country ski trail around the Filzalmsee and in the evening with floodlights the sports cross-country ski trail in Reith near Kitzbüel.

Hiking boot, mountain boot or snowshoe - hiking in fresh snow is a highlight for every winter holidaymaker. It's worth discovering the nature of the Alps even without boards under your feet. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, hike actively or stroll prudently. A network of winter hiking trails both in the valley and on high plateaus invites you to experiences on foot.
